GET INVOLVED

Volunteer

We’re always on the lookout for volunteers at the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library (KVML) who are willing to organize books for the library, assist with staffing our booth at festivals, fund-raising, grant writing, preparing mailers, special events including fundraisers and the Night of Vonnegut, and (if there is an accountant out there) help with our 990 filing.  If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please contact Kyle Hopkins, the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@vonnegutlibrary.org.

Donate

We are relying on the donations of individuals, foundations, and others to maintain the library.  We need monetary donations as well as donations of books and any skills/services that you or your organization can offer.  Please call Julia Whitehead, KVML Executive Director, at 317.652.1954 or e-mail her at julia.whitehead@vonnegutlibrary.org for more information.  To learn more about available donation levels, please click here.  To make a donation online, please click here.  If mailing a donation, please make checks payable to:

Contributions to the KVML are tax deductible as allowable by law.  Please note, however, that there are certain limitations on the deductibility of contributions to all Code Section 501(c)(3) organizations.  Accordingly, you are encouraged to consult your own tax advisor in determining the federal, state, local and/or foreign tax consequences of your contribution to the Library.  Thank you for your support of the KVML!

Planned Giving

Your Will is an expression of the values and beliefs that have guided your life and is an excellent way to provide for those individuals, organizations, and causes that have been important to you during your life after you leave this earth.

The KVML supports language and visual arts education through programs and outreach activities to foster a strong arts community.  The organization seeks to inspire and promote insightful writing and to engage people in thinking about and expressing themselves with the written word.  Please consider including the KVML in your estate plans.  If you have already made a bequest to the KVML or plan to do so, please let us know; we would like to express our gratitude to you now for your generosity.

A provision for KVML can be made in your Will with language as simple as the following:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library, 340 N. Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204, an Indiana not-for-profit organization, the sum of $____ (dollar amount) or ____% (percentage) of my estate (or residue of my estate) for the purpose of supporting the programs, activities, and operations of the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library.”

The KVML is an IRS 501(c)(3) organization.
