SUMMARY:Roots & Routes: Kurt Vonnegut Museum Presents Special Cultural Exhibition and Panel
DESCRIPTION:The Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library\, in conjunction with Indianapolis cultural institutions\, proudly  \npresents “Roots & Routes: A Year of Journalism in America” a special celebration of American  \nheritage and legacy taking place Friday\, June 20\, 2025.  \nThis important cultural event features renowned figures including Paul Hendrickson (New York Times  \nbestselling author and Washington Post contributor)\, Eunice Trotter (author and Director of Indiana  \nLandmarks Black Heritage Preservation)\, Robert Chester (noted writer and Senior Curator at Crispus  \nAttucks Museum)\, and Julia Whitehead (author and Founder of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library).  \nThe evening will include both a panel discussion on journalism in America and the grand premiere of  \nthe newly acclaimed museum exhibition “Roots & Routes: African Americans and the World.”  \nThe free event runs from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Crispus Attucks Museum\, located at 1140 Dr. Martin \nLuther King\, Jr. Street. This collaboration represents an important partnership between the Kurt  \nVonnegut Museum & Library and Indianapolis Public Schools. \n  \nJuneteenth celebrations will continue with Legacy Reception & Book Chat: An Afternoon with A’Lelia Bundles at the Madam Walker Legacy Center on Sunday\, June 22th at 3.30PM  \nAll events are free and open to the public\, with RSVPs required due to limited seating.
