Dear Kurt,
I am currently a college student and I am enrolled in a class about you. Up until this class, I had never read any of your works and did not even know who you were. The books we read followed your path as a writer and saw that your personal life had many connections to your stories. When I have to do critical analysis of certain works I actually get excited when I start to see connections in your writing. I thoroughly enjoy reading your books, and I’m not much of a reader. What tied me into your books were questions from your stories and I kept needing some answers. Thanks for all you have done and I’ll leave you with one of your quotes I think about a lot.
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be.”
