Four Reasons to Attend the Vonnegut Library “Sneak Peek” on November 12
Public Open House to View KVML, November 12th, 6-8 p.m.
The Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library and Katz & Korin, P.C. announce a public open house “sneak peek” of the Vonnegut Library’s development on November 12th from 6-8 p.m. at the Emelie Building, 340 N. Senate Ave., Indianapolis. There will be several exhibits ready for you to view, including an art gallery featuring Vonnegut art, a reading room with books donated by Half-Price Books, a gift shop, and several exhibits in a museum area that focus on Vonnegut’s life and works as well as the importance of the Vonnegut family in the Indianapolis community beginning with their arrival from Germany in the 1800s.
The paragraph above is full of good reasons to attend. Here are four more:
- Convenience: The time of 6PM to 8PM should fit into many schedules. If you like to retire early on Friday nights, this timeframe should still allow you to get to bed well before the 10 o’clock news comes on. If your Friday nights do not get started until later, you can still squeeze in this event and not curtail your late evening plans.
- Commemoration: The 88th anniversary of Vonnegut’s birth is November 11. Even though the sneak peek is one day later, it’s still a great way to mark this anniversary!
- Cleverness: Get a jump on your holiday shopping! Check out the KVML gift shop for items for the Vonnegut fans in your life. While others are traipsing through crowded malls in December trying to get their hands on Chia Pets®, ShamWows®, and Snuggies®, you can pat yourself on the back for your cleverness in dispatching your list early.
- Celebrity (kind of): You could be mentioned in an upcoming blog post! I’d love to hear about attendee experiences at the sneak peek party. E-mail me at [email protected] with your impressions/stories/opinions of the party, and you may appear in a future blog post.
Whatever your reason for attending, we look forward to seeing you at the sneak peek on November 12.
