Kursten Blanchard is the Chief Financial Officer of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library. She is an Indiana University graduate. She studied accounting and finance; however, she also spent a semester in Rouen, France, to complete her French minor and international studies focus. While she values all of her educational experiences, her time overseas gave her a broader sense of the world and taught her the value of interaction with those of various backgrounds and cultures.
Kursten’s work experience includes five years at Ernst & Young LLP as an external auditor, primarily for healthcare systems. She expanded her background by becoming a financial analyst at Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis and then at Pepsi Co. in Chicago. Kursten began the next chapter of her life when she and her husband Craig started a family. Kursten spent the next ten years as a stay-at-home mom with her daughter Reese and son Luke before re-entering the work force at the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library.
In her free time, Kursten enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, running, and taking her two Labrador retrievers on walks. Kursten is also very active in the PTO and volunteers once a week at St. Vincent Health’s Pet Ministry.
