Meredith Cummings is the former Director of Programs and Donor Relations at KVML. She recently moved from Indianapolis to Minneapolis and is currently handling some part-time contract work for the library and serving as the Editor in Chief of the So It Goes Literary Journal. She’s worked as a writer and editor for 30 years for various organizations, including National Geographic Magazine, North Carolina State University, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, and the Indianapolis Star’s Community Magazines. She taught English and creative writing for six years at Ivy Tech Community College.  One of Meredith’s favorite Vonnegut quotes addresses creativity. “Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.” Meredith grew up in a family that encouraged arts immersion, so working for an organization that’s part of the Indianapolis arts community is… well, to borrow another quote from Vonnegut, “nice, nice, very nice.”
