Workshop Synopsis
As a virtual teacher during 2020 and 2021, Brittany has learned many tips and tricks to make English/Language Arts curricula more engaging in the online environment. This workshop will focus on activities that can be used for any read-aloud lesson, using specific examples from elementary and high school classes. During the workshop Brittany will focus on two texts: City Green by DyAnne DiSalvo-Ryan, for elementary school teachers, and Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, for middle and high school teachers.

Brittany Cain has been a K-2 grade teacher in the Indianapolis area for 5 years and previously worked as a School-Age Coordinator in a daycare setting. She first became involved with KVML as a volunteer while completing her masters at IUPUI and fell in love with Kurt’s message of Free Expression and Common Decency
